Capstar Flea Treatment tablets is a fast-acting flea treatment for dogs and cats, starting to work within 30 minutes. A single dose of Capstar will kill 90% of adult fleas within 4 hours on dogs and 6 hours on cats. Pets may temporarily scratch as result of the fleas dying. Capstar (nitenpyram) 11.4 mg is for puppies, dogs, kittens and cats 4 weeks of age and older and over 2 lbs. of body weight. Nitenpyram the active ingredient in Capstar is an insecticide that interferes with nerve transmission in the fleas. Capstar may be used along with monthly or longer-lasting flea preventative medications to address a flea infestation. It can also be used together with other pet medications such as hearworm preventatives, corticosteroids, antibiotics, vaccines, deworming medications and shampoos. If you are unsure contact your vet.
